Government sees three options for foreign firms in Russia now
MOSCOW, Mar 4 (PRIME) -- The government sees three options for foreign firms in the current conditions: they can continue their operations in Russia, transfer their shareholdings to Russian partners and return to the market later, or leave the market completely, which will be seen as intentional bankruptcy, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov said on Friday.
He added that many foreign companies do not want to leave the market, but have to due to unprecedented political pressure.
The government will also take steps to support employment after foreign companies leave the Russian market, he said.
“All the measures, prepared by the government, are targeted at supporting production and business activity in Russia, as well as maintenance of employment at all the entities,” the person said.
